How to access
Simply launch your favourite modern web browser and enter the address of our cluster cluster.apoz.edu.pl.
To log in you will need your Fire University's Office365 account and cluster access. Access is granted for you by the cluster admin. If you are researcher, student or teacher associated with Fire University, and you want to gain the access - let us know.
Dashboard
Dashboard is the main view of cluster's Graphical Users Interface. You can directly access the following:
- Home Directory - this is where all data linked to you is stored, i.e. all
your projects files are at
~/storage/ondemand/projects/
. - Job Composer - the tool to submit your jobs
- Active Jobs - you can see what jobs are running on the cluster at the moment
- APoz Cluster Shell - feature available for admins only
- AAMKS - our original tool for fire risk analysis
- VisCalc - our original tool for visibility assesment from BEAM elements in FDS
- System Status - here you can check cluster availability and observe temperature trends
Home Directory
The main functionality of the app is in line with any file explorer. You can
browse directories, filter it contents, download and upload files. Keep in mind
that we all share a finite amount of disk space and avoid storing huge files
(i.e. numerical simulation results) for the long time. Nevertheless, you can
freely use your ~/storage
directory. Avoid storing any files anywhere outside
this directory, since those are purged every so often.
Project files from~/storage/ondemand/projects/*
older than 30 days are removed
on weekly basis.
Job Composer
Job submission is performed with Job Composer app. Moreover, through Job Composer you can access the directory where your job files are stored and see it contents. You can also see the simplified status of the job.
If you are familiar with SLURM submission process you may write a sumbission script from scratch using default template. If not, please use one of our templates. Those are available for FDS, OpenFOAM and SAFIR calculations. For any other you need to have basic knowledge on SLURM and/or contact our staff.
Active Jobs
It lists all jobs running or queued on the cluster (an equivalent of squeue
CLI command).
You can also learn more about your job (i.e. its status or time info) by clicking
on it (as in scontrol show job
).
System Status
Availablility of nodes and cores in total is presented on the main graph. You can also follow the temperature trends of certain nodes.
